Hydraulic practitioners point of view

The book is a real feast for those engineers who want to understand the nuts and bolts of the hydraulic modelling. Importanly it provides a very nice balance between the underlaying theory of the numerical analysis, tuned to assist in solution of hydraulic problems. While unfortunattely to many engineers tend only to ask ".. give me the model to solve the problem .." this book is for those who aim to be masters in their trade and fully undertstand the computational aspects in hydraulics. The authors obvious experience in lecturing (and patience in building the story) comes accross as all the complex derivations are logical and easy to follow. The fact that the book has the accompanied software, illustrated with many excellent examples, makes the reading even more exciting because it gives the reader the confidence of undertaking complex calculations. While the software is an excellent tool for the hydraulic analysis its structure and logic used to develop its building blocks is a masterpiece. Author should be commended to his dedication and skill to convey the complex story in a way that excites others to learn more and excell in their own craft.
