Ana era una nina judia de trece a�os, hija de comerciantes alemanes, que, cuando las primeras persecuciones nazis, creyeron hallar en Holanda la salvacion definitiva. Cuando, en julio de 1942, los Frank tuvieron que elegir entre dos decisiones: someterse al allanamiento de la Gestapo o esconderse costase lo que costase, de los dos terminos de la alternativa prefirieron el segundo.

Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank's remarkable diary has since become a world classic—a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the "Secret Annex" of an old office building. Cut off from the outside world, they faced hunger, boredom, the constant cruelties of living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death. In her diary Anne Frank recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period. By turns thoughtful, moving, and amusing, her account offers a fascinating commentary on human courage and frailty and a compelling self-portrait of a sensitive and spirited young woman whose promise was tragically cut short.

El mejor libro que he le�dos!

Atrapante de principio a fin. Lleno de ense�anzas y reflexiones tan actuales hoy como en el momento en que fueron escritas. Vale la pena dejarse llevar por el relato de esa adolescente, que no tiene nada que envidiarle a ning�n escritor profesional. Analiza con total naturalidad y frescura la complejidad de las relaciones dentro y fuera de su n�cleo familiar, al mismo tiempo que describe los cambios propios de la adolescencia, aunque matizados por la situaci�n que le toca vivir. Todo esto lo hace con una capacidad de introspecci�n y una autocr�tica admirables, lo que deja ver el verdadero genio detr�s de esa redacci�n. Simplemente imperdible.
